An unhurried escape in the high desert
The luxury of slowing down.
Poolside afternoons, horses at first light and a sky with nothing to compete with, in California’s Mojave high desert.

Your place
in the desert.
A hillside rock pool, a barrel sauna and a shaded pergola walk, with the Antelope Valley beyond.
What there is
to do.
Nothing runs to a timetable and none of it is compulsory. This is simply what is here, for the days you are.
-
Mornings can start on a horse. Open country, nobody going fast, and no experience asked for.
-
Wine in the late afternoon, outside, while the heat comes off the day — poured by someone who will tell you about it without making it a lecture.
-
Massage and bodywork, built into the stay rather than bolted onto the end of it. You finish, you walk a few steps, and you are in the water.
-
There is almost no light out here to compete with. We bring someone out to name what is overhead that night and say why it is there. You need to know nothing about stars to sit through it.
